What to do in the Gorges du Verdon?

THE ROUTE DES CRÊTES

Stretching over 24 kilometers, the famous Route des Crêtes offers at the bend of 14 belvederes magnificent panoramic views of the Gorges du Verdon, its cliffs, its fauna and flora (flight of vultures).


By car, motorcycle, e-bike or even climbing, it adapts to all your desires!

CLIMBING

For years the Gorges du Verdon have been particularly renowned for offering a wide range of climbing routes in a privileged and globally recognized setting.

The Escalès cliff, accessible by the Route des Crêtes, has large routes overlooking the canyon.

Beginners or experienced climbers of routes all levels will be recommended to you at the guide house.

LAKE OF SAINTE CROIX

Surrounded by a grandiose landscape, it is the gateway to the Gorges du Verdon for all water activities.

You can choose from there: pedal boat, canoe, electric boat, sailing and thus go up the first kilometers of the Gorges du Verdon.

After a sunny morning from the Sainte Croix lake, the Valensole plateau is only a 30-minute drive away.

World-famous place, it allows you to take magnificent photos in the middle of lavandin cultures.

HIKING

Many trails for all levels and of varying duration are available to you

The best known are: the Sentier Blanc-Martel (GR4), the Sentier de L'Imbut , the ballad of Châteauneuf-lès-Moustiers and the Sentier du Bastidon .

The Blanc-Martel trail

Absolutely unmissable path of the Verdon gorges, the Blanc-Martel path is one of the most beautiful hikes in France.


The GR4 is a clever mix of cliffs and breathtaking panoramic views, it is unique in its kind because it borrows the tunnels of an old hydraulic project in its final part.


As the trail has been redeveloped for a few years, the delicate passages are now well protected.


A shuttle is set up by the Verdon Regional Natural Park, it allows a departure in the morning from the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon and a return at the end of the afternoon.

The Imbut Trail

The Imbut Trail is one of the most beautiful and physically demanding hikes.

The walk allows you to take magnificent photos along the bed of the Verdon river.
We recommend it in its simplified round-trip version by avoiding the Vidal exit.

Village of Chateauneuf-les-Moustier

A short walk to the abandoned village of Châteauneuf-les-Moustiers, ideal for admiring the Montdenier massif.
Châteauneuf-les-Moustiers was abandoned at the beginning of the 20th century.

The remaining remains are impressive in size and number.
